This website is an excellent idea. You need to get the word out via the press, trinituner, facebook, twitter and other media forms.

Linus, Thanks so much for your kind comment and suggestion. Because of the nature of the material, I prefer to depend on visitors like you to share the resource. I am so averse to sensationalising the injuries that have been and are still being suffered by the victims, the ones who love them, and our society as a whole, that I have deliberately avoided seeking any publicity beyond what is automatically generated by internet search engines. Those who link to this site have done so without my prompting and what the blog statistics tell me is that the persons who are already in the habit of searching the Internet for information about abductions in general or for specific cases, are finding the blog. If these visitors find the resource as useful as you do, I believe that they will recommend it to others.
Peace.

Very rarely do people consider the effects of the the sensationalism of these horrible crimes on the lives of the families, your sensitivity in this regard is justified and humane. I stumbled across this site and I am very impressed with its objectives, both to cater to the practical ordeal of locating or at least letting people know about missing persons, while catering to the unthinkable emotional trauma the relatives of these persons must be experiencing. As an agent of media, it is a serious balancing act between publishing what will get the story out there so as to increase the chances of locating the individuals and being sensitive to the emotional needs of the parents by avoiding a sensationalism that further exploits both victim and family in order to sell papers. Unfortunately the majority of media agencies err on the side of the exploitative often primarily to keep their coffers topped.
Recognizing that, I do see some great significance in remembering those who have been abducted and raped, killed murdered or remain unfound, in this regard I propose a project that will serve as an ode or memorial to this mass of often nameless and faceless individuals in order to remember them and the need to effect policy to change this very changeable reality. As a country we have the resources which can go a long way in preventing a lot of these crimes and locating a lot of the missing individuals. We fail to recognise the gravity of these violations. And after two days of media play they are left by the wayside. This needs to change and I think this site and its creators have done a lot in effecting that reality. I will try my best to keep updated. Keep up the necessary work.

Khadija,
Thanks for this beautiful and encouraging comment. Apologies for the delay in replying but recently there haven’t been as many reports in the newspapers and I have not needed to visit the site as frequently to update.
Unfortunately, I cannot say with certainty that disappearances have decreased significantly as it is possible that they are simply not being reported by the media. I realise that this is happening when it is reported that someone has been found when they were never reported as missing. Again, I have no idea if this is accidental or some new policy.
Regarding your proposal of “a project that will serve as an ode or memorial to this mass of often nameless and faceless individuals in order to remember them and the need to effect policy to change this very changeable reality.” I think it is an excellent idea and if you could involve the ones who know and love the missing, it would be such a source of comfort to them to know that their loved ones are not faceless and forgotten. Please let me know more about your ideas for this project and if I can be of any assistance to you. Thanks again for taking the time to communicate. It means a lot to me.
Peace
