What we hope for is that both the victims and their families will survive abductions. Survival is not only about emerging physically alive but it is also about defending and preserving your spirit. For the duration of the abduction, regardless of the outcome, both victims and their families are subject to devastating assaults upon their emotional health. The best way to prepare to be a survivor is of course to do everything in your power to take the necessary precautions to prevent an abduction from occurring to yourself and those in your care. If someone in your family is abducted, make the commitment to survive. You are of no use to yourself, the abducted person or the rest of your family if you surrender. Be prepared.
