The manager of a popular food catering company in south Trinidad is missing and her relatives fear the worst. Ivera Saunders, 39, of Monty Street, Marabella, was last seen alive by her husband, Earl Arindel, 40, at around 9 am on Saturday. Saunders’ sister, Michelle, said it was customary for the woman, manager of Kenscott Ltd at Marabella, to leave her home and not return for a few days. Saunders’ husband said she loved to lime and would often return home in the wee hours of the morning. He said he was puzzled by her disappearance and was appealing for her to return home. “Ivera Saunders, I love you. I want you back. It is five days now I have not slept. I am not eating. I feel empty. All I can do is drink water. Please come back,” Arindel said.

Saunders’ sister Michelle said she believed something was definitely wrong because all of her possessions were intact at the house and it was unusual for her to disappear for so long. “All of her clothes, jewelry, makeup and handbag are still in the house, so if she had gone off somewhere, she would have taken her handbag with her. The only things missing are her two cellphones and chargers, a pair of white bedroom slippers and a purple nightie,” Michelle said. She said Saunders was last seen by some of her co-workers who went to her home to collect some chairs she had borrowed from the company for a birthday party for her 20-year-old son, Jamal. Michelle said Saunders loved her job and her son. “If she went anywhere, she would have called her colleagues at work. This is strange. I think someone has her. I think something bad has happened,” Michelle said. She added that Saunders would never go away for four days without telling anyone about her whereabouts.
